Is this the evolution you were waiting for?

Fascinated by technology? We are users of technological services that involve increasingly complex functions, adopted by companies, public entities, financial institutions, and, finally, for our personal use. The constant and rapid changes (modifications to terms, updates, new installations, renewal of informed consent), along with access to a multitude of online services through our browser, constantly force us to accept conditions that, otherwise, would not allow us to use certain services, which are often interconnected.

This technocratic bombardment of subjugation to a new level of better conditions represents the bait for this new and silent migration towards the fourth industrial revolution.

The Tech Oligarchs, or the large companies that dominate the digital market, are exerting an increasing influence on our daily lives and the democratic system. Digital technologies are used to collect and analyze vast amounts of personal data, which can be employed to influence our choices and behaviors.

Furthermore, the concentration of power in the hands of a few tech companies can result in a loss of control over our digital lives and a reduction in our ability to make informed decisions.

The DOGE case

It is not just being theorized, but the disdainful arrogance of technological oligarchs has shaped the United States, including the DOGE Department of Government Efficiency, a source of controversy and constitutional legitimacy doubts. At the helm of the Department of Government Efficiency has been appointed Elon Musk.

DOGE appears to be aimed at gaining complete access to the data of the Social Security system. However, the goal is not to protect people, but rather to compromise the social security systems.

What has history taught us?

The Watergate scandal was a political event that deeply shook the history of the United States, leading to the resignation of President Richard Nixon in 1974.

It so happens that Nixon wanted to use his knowledge of power against his political opponents for his own interests.

Data Protection and Security

It becomes fundamental to obtain data protection and security in every context of digital life. Common thought associates partisan statements with a purported decalogue of good intentions or with the observation of normative dictates, as if everything were compliant and perfect. In truth, they are just fooling you. Let’s look at some aspects:

  • Whatsapp claims in bold letters that our conversations with end-to-end encryption are secure and offer maximum privacy. Please click here.
  • Data in the Cloud is not secure. Our data, even if stored in an apparently secure cloud, is simply moved to another location and managed by other companies. Please click here.
  • Email, contacts, calendars, and content are perfectly known to the phone manager and to anyone you have granted sharing permissions to. Please click here.

Speech of His Holiness Pope John Paul II

A brief summary is provided, and readers are referred to the full speech delivered at the UN on October 5, 1995 by His Holiness Pope John Paul II.

The moral dynamics of the universal quest for freedom were clearly evident in Central and Eastern Europe during the non-violent revolutions of 1989. These historical events demonstrated that the pursuit of freedom is a fundamental need, rooted in the recognition of human dignity. Modern totalitarianism represented an attack on the dignity of the person, even denying the value of life. The revolutions of 1989 were made possible by the courage of men and women who embraced a deep vision of the human being as a free and intelligent person. Social solidarity was crucial to the success of these revolutions, forming the moral core of the “power of the powerless” and offering hope. Today, reflecting on those events, one can observe the alignment between the values of those movements and the moral commitments of the United Nations Charter, which reaffirm human rights and the dignity of the person. The founders of the UN lit a torch that can illuminate the path towards freedom, peace, and solidarity, dispelling the darkness of tyranny.

And to finish

Sleep peaceful dreams, because in Italy a Department of Government Efficiency would hardly be established, or rather, a Expenditure Agency.. The massive waste of public money would be completely exhumed thanks, at this point I repeat, to the artificial intelligence that, in some ways, is scary… Even for this!
